Social networking has moved beyond our personal lives. It is a tool for engagement and relationship building. We see B2C brands using social media regularly, but it has also become a legitimate selling strategy in the B2B arena.

In today’s marketplace, one thing that stays top of mind in sales organizations is that “we could be/should be doing better than we are now”. Sales leaders know the pressure of growing revenues and profits, quarter after quarter, year after year. Even after the best months, quarters and years, the expectations require more. If the growth falls short, it may take a long time to diagnose. Even when the growth meets (or exceeds) expectations, the exact reasons may not be evident (and therefore, not easily repeatable).
The final element shared at the Sales Leadership Community breakfast was the importance of sales operations in driving a successful sales transformation. I was reflecting on it this evening, and I estimate that the team at SOAR has been engaged to enable the success sales transformations that have created hundreds of millions of dollars in value for our clients. Then I thought about the sales operations teams that have been involved in our work. As one of the panelists at the breakfast shared, sales operations can make or break a transformation effort.
Georgia State University and SOAR Performance Group hosted over 50 senior executives from companies like Georgia Pacific, IBM, Ricoh, AT&T, First Data, Worldpay, Equifax, Ericsson, NCR, SAP, Merrill Lynch and Randstad at the inaugural event for the Sales Leadership Community in Atlanta. Also represented were several emerging growth companies like Navicure, Aptean, Pros and Verint. The event was a tremendously successful forum for best practice sharing and executive networking for sales leaders within the greater Atlanta area. The event began with networking and ended with a panel discussion about how top sales executives lead through effective sales transformation.
